On Jan. 20, 2016, The New Haven Register published an article on ConnCAN’s Teacher and Administrator Contract Databases, which we had upgraded to allow visitors to compare specific data points more easily when searching collective bargaining agreements across the state:
“Research is clear that the top influencers on student achievement that a district can control is an effective teacher in the classroom and a great principal leading a school,” ConnCAN Chief Executive Officer Jennifer Alexander said in a statement. “Since contracts significantly impact districts’ teacher and administrator policy, the Teacher and Administrator Contract Database is an important reference point to help all of us — from policymakers, school leaders, educators, parents and advocates — examine and understand how contract provisions impact our educators and students. Our goal is to ensure student-focused policies that also recruit, support, retain and recognize effective teachers and school leaders.”
