Nearly five years ago, I began working at ConnCAN alongside Subira Gordon, M.P.P. From that moment, I knew her leadership, thoughtfulness and drive would bring the organization to the next level. I have learned so much about advocacy, policy and purpose from her, lessons I’ll take with me throughout my career.
As Subira embarks on new opportunities, where she is sure to thrive, I am humbled to carry the work forward as ConnCAN’s Interim Executive Director. As we continue the important work in the Nutmeg State, we’re also opening up the application for ConnCAN’s next Executive Director. ConnCAN’s mission has never felt so urgent. Connecticut’s students deserve access to great schools so they can achieve their limitless potential. We are committed to better funding systems for all public schools, a more diverse educator workforce, greater opportunity for underserved populations–including multilingual learners and students of color–and constantly improving school experiences and outcomes.
This work is not possible without committed supporters, allies, families, students and policy makers. We each have a role in changing education systems, and I’m excited to work alongside you to get this right.
