On March 2, 2016, The New Haven Register published an article on Connecticut’s announcement that public school teachers would be graded by new measures and cited ConnCAN:
Connecticut education advocacy group Connecticut Coalition for Achievement Now lauded the state for the changes.
“While we look forward to studying the new accountability system in more detail, it is encouraging to see that Connecticut has moved toward a new accountability system that takes a holistic approach to accountability that includes student achievement results, and takes into account a number of other factors that impact student learning and readiness for post-secondary education and careers of the future,” ConnCAN CEO Jennifer Alexander said in a statement. “We are also encouraged that, under the next-generation accountability system, some of our schools high-needs areas have performed very well and are noted as schools of distinction.”
