New Haven, Conn.–Today, the Connecticut Education Association (CEA) called for Connecticut legislators to abandon the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBAC).

In response to this premature rejection of the standardized test, ConnCAN will hold a press call to shine a light on a number of inaccuracies touted during the CEA’s press conference.

The briefing will be an opportunity for media to learn more about the Smarter Balanced Assessment, the purpose and benefits of the test, and understand the state’s financial imperative to continue the efforts started to ensure all students, regardless of race, wealth or address are able to meet the rigorous standards set forth.
